IG Hall organizes Annual Fest ?Spectra?17?
Aligarh, March 24: The Indira Gandhi Hall, Aligarh Muslim University recently organized its Annual festival ?Spectra?17? in which students participated in various cultural and interactive activities.
The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran), who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, said that the AMU administration is quite concerned about the residential and other needs of the girl students, in view of which, the newly constructed hall with an accommodation capacity of at least 1500 has been established. He urged the students to participate in extracurricular activities in addition to their normal studies and said that the newly constructed Indoor swimming pool, dedicated to them, will become functional from April.
Expressing his views on the Taekwondo performance of the students, the Vice Chancellor said that girls are not behind in any field and he is confident that they will fight against injustices meted to them.
Brig S Ahmad Ali (Veteran), the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Prof Mohd Mohsin Khan, the Proctor, were the Guests of Honor on the occasion. Dr Asiya Chaudhary, Provost, IG Hall proposed the vote of thanks while praising the motivational words of Lt Gen Shah.
Senior Hall Ms Zoya Akbar presented the annual report while Ms Munees Munir, Joint Cultural Secretary of the Hall gave a brief introduction of the sports, cultural and literary activities. The performance of Taekwondo was made by Ms Divya and team.
Co- Senior Hall Ms Farheen Rafat, Ms Sumbul Nida, Senior Food along with the wardens of the IG Hall played an active role in the organization of the event.
