Raleigh Literary Society stages ?The witches and other Confusions- A comedy of Terrors?
Aligarh, April 25: The Raleigh Literary Society, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University recently staged a play, ?The witches and other Confusions- A comedy of Terrors? in the Kennedy Hall Auditorium.
Department of English students: Mariyam Ilyas Siddiqui, Shafaque Zehra, Mariam Tariq Usmani, Sadia Jafri, Sumaiyah Naaz, Salma Javed, Mohd Sajid Ansari, Abraham Varghese, Mohd Anas, Tabeeda Bint Bashir, Zainab Fatima, Mohd Faraz Zuberi, Adnan Khan, Mohd Omar Fazal Khan, Varun Verna, Haroon Khan and Rayyan Nemat portrayed various characters in the play.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran); Mrs Sabiha Seemi Shah; Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier Syed Ahmed Ali and Mrs Rizwana Ali graced the occasion as audiences to the play.
On the occasion, General Shah said that the Raleigh Literary Society has played a big role in developing communication skills amongst the students of the university. ?The society has made commendable efforts in encouraging the students to inhibit their fear of representing themselves in front of a large audience thereby making them confident,? added General Shah.
Professor Seemin Hasan, Chairperson, Department of English and Patron of the Raleigh Literary Society conducted the programme. Teachers-in-charge, Dr Aysha Munira Rasheed and Dr Vibha Sharma worked tirelessly to mentor the students participating in the play.
Ms Zakra Saiwa, President, Raleigh Literary Society and Mr Ayush Gaur hosted the event. Ms Vardha Manzar proposed the vote of thanks.
