Dr Masarrat Ali?s demise mourned in AMU
Aligarh, April 26: The faculty members, students and staff of the Department of Biochemistry, Aligarh Muslim University recently held a condolence meeting in the Department premises to mourn the sad demise of Dr Masarrat Ali, who passed away after suffering a massive heart attack after the Friday prayers in San Antonio, Texas, USA, where he has been living for the past two decades. The meeting was presided by Professor Riaz Mahmood, Chairpserson, Department of Biochemistry.
During the meeting, people associated with the Department of Biochemistry and Dr Ali?s friends spoke on the deceased?s contributions while praying for him in the religious manners.
Dr Ali did his Pre-university, BSc (Chemistry) and MSc (Biochemistry) from AMU. He was awarded the university Gold Medal for being ranked first in class in MSc. After completing PhD from CDRI, Lucknow, he joined Alpha Diagnostics in the United States of America. He was also a recipient of the Ronald Reagan Award for best businessman of the year in 2005. Among the numerous contributions, Dr Ali made to AMU includes provision of smart-classrooms in the Department of Biochemistry and digitalization of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan?s works, which are available on sirsyedtoday.com.
