27-APR-2017: District Court in New Delhi orders Rex Remedies to avoid using name similar to AMU?s ?Dimagheen?
Aligarh, April 27: The District Court, Saket, New Delhi has ordered the Rex Remedies Pvt Ltd to not use a name similar to the word ?Dimagheen? for one of their products as DawakhanaTibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University has been producing a health product, ?Dimagheen? since 1954. The court has observed that with the use of a name similar to AMU?s product, customers might get confused in between the two products.
While briefing the media about the judgement; Mr Arshad Munir, Manager, DawakhanaTibbiya College, AMU and Professor Tajuddin, DawakhanaTibbiya College, AMU today informed that Rex Remedies has been asked to immediately stop using the name similar to ?Dimagheen? in one of their products as it is a patent and registered product of AMU?s DawakhanaTibbiya College.
The case against Rex Remedies was registered at the District Court, Saket in New Delhi after it was found out that the company has been producing a product similar to DawakhanaTibbiya College?s Dimagheen and with a name sounding similar Tibbiya College?s product.
