AMU Kishanganj Centre concludes workshop on ?Stress Management and Communication Skills for Police Personnel?
Aligarh, April 27: The Kishanganj Centre of Aligarh Muslim University has recently concluded a two-day workshop on ?Stress Management and Communication Skills for Police Personnel?. Mr Anil Kumar, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Kishanganj inaugurated the workshop at the Academic Block of AMU Kishanganj Centre.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Shah Alam associated with AMU?s Department of Psychology pointed out that with this workshop, history has been made as it is for the first time that a workshop on today?s topic has been organised specifically for police personnel in the Kishanganj Centre of AMU.
The workshop involved technical sessions on ?Managing Stress in Police Personnel and Mental Health Test and Relaxation Exercise? by Professor Alam, while Professor Raashid Nehal, Director, AMU Kishanganj Centre delivered session on ?Interpersonal Skills-Listening Skills.?
Mr Rajeev Mishra, Superintendent of Police, Kishanganj distributed certificates during the valedictory function of the workshop.
During the technical sessions and the rest of the workshop, important recommendations were made which included: How Police personnel will feel relaxed if trust, autonomy and support is extended, compensation for extra duties in the form of appreciation and positive appropriate reappraisal, relaxation in leave rules, politeness in dealing with the subordinates, organising recreational activities, healthy Police-Public interaction, sports and physical exercise facilities, understanding and improving Perception Level and introduction of career counselling centres among other important recommendations.
