All India Radio delegation visits AMU
ALIGARH May 3: A delegation of Urdu, Persian and Arabic Section of External Services Division, All India Radio headed by it?s Director, Amlanjyoti Mazoomdar recently visited the Aligarh Muslim University and met the Vice Chancellor Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran).
Assuring for an active cooperation on the part of the All India Radio, Mr Mazoomdar offered to broadcast all the important events of the university in different languages, which may be recorded in the well equipped Studio of the Department of Mass Communication of Aligarh Muslim University.
He said that the faculty members, scholar and students will meet the needs and aspirations of the listeners spread across the globe.
Mr Mazoomdar said that All India radio programmes are broadcast in fifteen foreign and twelve Indian languages through medium and short waves in nearly 150 countries. It also has a global presence through live streaming online and through mobile apps.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah appreciated the proposal of the All India Radio and assured them all necessary help and cooperation in this endeavour which would enhance the perception about the University.
Mr Ansar Ahmad, Incharge, Arabic Service, Mr Ahmad Ali Barqi Azmi, Incharge, Persian Service, Mr S M Noman Shouq, Incharge Urdu Service, Mr Sanjay Kaul, Programme Officer and Mr SM Raza, Consultant (Urdu) and Dr Rahat Abrar, Director, Urdu Academy were also present during the meeting.
The All India Radio team also visited Maulana Azad Library, Department of Mass Communication, Musa Dakri Museum, Sir Syed Academy, Sir Syed Hall and Urdu Academy of the University.
