General Shah inaugurates renovated wings of Guest House No. 01, Community Hall Complex and the VIP Suites
Aligarh, May 13: Aligarh Muslim University Vice-Chancellor, Lt. General Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran) today inaugurated the renovated wings of Guest House No. 01, Community Hall Complex and the VIP Suites (Transit Quarters) in presence of Brig. Syed Ahmad Ali, (Veteran) and other dignitaries and functionaries of the University.
Soon after the inauguration, Prof. Bilal Mustafa Khan, MIC Guest Houses, took the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, their spouses and other dignitaries for a tour of the renovated buildings/facilities.
On the occasion, General Shah said the Guest Houses along-with the Website are the face of the University. He expressed his delight and satisfaction on the quality of the work, design and aesthetics of the renovated projects. The Vice-Chancellor attributed the entire success of the renovation project to Prof. Bilal Mustafa Khan and congratulated the Members of the Technical & Monitoring Committee for extending their all round support to the renovation projects of the Guest Houses.
Speaking on the occasion Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Brig. Syed Ahmad Ali (Veteran) said that the renovated building, spell class and each and every penny that has been spent has been spent wisely and judiously and the value is there for each to see. He dedicated the success of the entire project to the single minded dedication and hard work of Prof. Bilal Mustafa Khan, MIC, Guest Houses and his team.
He also stressed on the fact that building an asset is easier than maintaining one. He emphasized that it is now the onerous responsibility of each member of the AMU fraternity to maintain the facilities which have been so painstakingly developed.
Prof. Bilal in his briefing shared his experiences of working with the Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor and said that without their unflinching trust, faith and support in us, the project would never have became a reality.
He further pointed out that both the Vice-Chancellor & Pro-Vice-Chancellor wanted to leave a legacy behind in the form of 5 star hospitality facilities for the AMU community for time to come.
Prof. Bilal said that now 32 rooms including passages and reception area of Guest House No. 01 stand fully renovated.
The Community Hall complex now has two huge centrally air conditioned halls with mood/ ambient lighting with provisions for multi media and audio visual facilities.
Apart from the Halls the complex has 1 VIP lounge, 3 multipurpose rooms/lounges, VIP washrooms for ladies and gents on the ground floor as well as on the first floor. Apart from the above there are 2 general purpose washrooms for both ladies & gents in the complex.
The back lawns have also been connected with the front lawns and the kitchen area has been shifted to an alternate site.
The erstwhile Transit quarters have been renovated into 12 VIP suites with 5 star facilities to house E.C./Court members & other VIPs during University events & functions.
Prof. Bilal had a special word of praise for the Finance Officer, Prof. S.M. Jawaid Akhtar who he said has been a pillor of support for the entire projects of the Guest Houses.
Prof. Bilal thanked each and every member of his team and other MIC?s, University Engineer, University Health Officer and guests present on the occasion and all those who have been a part of the project.
