30-OCT-2017: AMU students urged to put premium on academic progress
ALIGARH October 29: ?Academic activities in the University are in full swing and Ph.D. admission process is going on as per schedule. But a few candidates who could not qualify the written test have tried to vitiate the peaceful academic atmoshere by leveling uncalled for allegations. University administration has assured the agitating students that it will examine all representations and take suitable action including scrutinizing the answer books of written test. However, they forcefully closed the main gate of the University. It will put the career of the students in jeopardy?, said Professor Jamshed Siddqui, Dean Students Welfare, in a letter addressed to the students.
According to the letter, if the situation further aggravates, this may lead to academic loss to the entire student community. Hence, all the students are advised not to get involved in such activities which are detrimental to the smooth functioning of the University.
Professor Sidiqui said, ?The issue is specific to the postgraduate students aspiring for Ph.D. admissions, but all the students enrolled in UG, PG and professional courses of the University, will suffer academic losses. The administration is deeply concerned with the future of all AMU students and is strongly committed to upholding the larger interest of the student community. Semester system of examination, prevalent in the University, is constrained with shortage of time for regular classes. The mid-semester exams have just concluded and each working day is precious for classes and student-teacher interaction?.
This duration until the final exams of this semester, should be utilized in teaching and learning in a healthy and peaceful atmosphere, conducive to education and development and no one should be allowed to damage the academic growth of the majority of AMU students who are the future of the community. Through this letter, the DSW sought the cooperation of all students and they are urged to put premium on academic progress.
