07-NOV-2017: Orientation and training programmes conclude at Ahmadi School
ALIGARH, November 6: ?The prerequisites for the development of an educational institution are not high walls or big infrastructure but the regular orientation, dedication and sincerity of its teachers and students?, said Prof AR Kidwai, Director, UGC Human Resource Development Centre and KA Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, while addressing as Chief Guest at the valedictory function of Orientation Programme on Braille and Training Programme in Disaster Management at the Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged. The programmes were organized in collaboration with National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities, Dehradun.
Prof Kidwai said that orientation meant giving a proper direction to a person?s attitudes, beliefs or feelings in relation to a particular subject or issue. He said that in spite of working hard ?we generally lack a sense of mission and direction and these kinds of programmes aim at developing the same?.
Prof Kidwai stated that only achieving something was not enough as one needed to explore and enrich the experiences of life on a regular basis. He urged the participants to regularly make a revision of knowledge, which they gain in their career. He appreciated the efforts of the Ahmadi School in organizing such orientation programmes and presented memento to the participants.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, Mrs Firdaus Rahman, Principal of the School gave a brief report of the programme and highlighted its objectives. She said that the programme aimed at equipping the participants with technical advancement of Braille reading and writing.
Mr Adil Jaleel conducted the programme while Mrs Sumbul Alvi proposed a vote of thanks. Mr MP Singh spoke from teachers? side and gave their feedback. Mrs Nudrat and Mrs Bushra Naseem played an important role in the success organization of the programme.
