25-NOV-2017: Ministry of New and Renewable Energy chooses AMU for promoting Solar Energy awareness
Aligarh, November 24: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India (GOI) has bestowed Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) with the honour of recognising the University among top reputed institutions for promoting Solar Energy awareness.
In this connection, AMU organised a training programme on ?Grid Connected Solar Plants for the Government owned distribution companies? at the Office of the Chief Engineer, PVVNL, Moradabad in which over 40 SEs, ExEns, AEs and JEs participated.
Dr Mohd Rihan (Member-in charge, Department of Electricity) with Prof Imtiaz Ashraf and Prof Abu Tariq conducted the technical sessions.
?AMU will organise six programmes for engineers in the cities of Rampur, Bijnore, Amroha, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Shamli and Bulandshahar,? said Dr Rihan. He added that these programmes will be organised in the coming three months.
Dr Rihan further said that the GOI through its various schemes is providing subsidy for the installation of Solar Roof-top panels. ?These programmes are a part of the Partnership to Advance Clean Energy-Deployment (PACE-D) Technical Assistance Program,? said Dr Rihan adding that PACE-D Technical Assistance Program is a 20 million US$ five-year bilateral joint program of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and United States Agency for International Development.
