International conference on Ergonomics at AMU to commence on December 8
ALIGARH December 6: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is organizing the 15th International Ergonomics Conference on ?Humanizing Work and Work Environment? from December 8-10, 2017.
The inaugural function, starting at 9:00 am on December 8 at the J N Medical College Auditorium, will be presided over by AMU Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor, while Prof Yushi Fujita (President, International Ergonomics Association) will grace the occasion as the chief-guest. Prof Louis E Freund from San Jose University, USA and Dr Zakwan Ahmed, Director General, R & M & Impl, DRDO will be the guests of honour.
Prof M Muzammil, Coordinator of the conference informed that a number of delegates from India and abroad will be attending the three-day conference and papers will be presented on the various aspects of ergonomics that have emerged as challenging fields in the new work order following the gadgetry revolution and AI implications taking roots throughout the world.
The conference will be organized under the overall supervision of Prof M Altumish Siddiqui (Chairperson, Department of Mechanical Engineering), while Prof Abid Ali Khan and Dr Faisal Hasan, Co-coordinators of the programme are working hard to make the conference a success.
Prof V Balasubramanium (IIT Madras), Prof Dhurjati Majumdar (MRU), Prof C B Mayhorn (USA), Prof Victor Paquet (USA), Prof B J Martin (USA), Prof Deb K Chakraborty (IIT Guwahati), Prof Jose Orlando Gomes (Brazil) and Prof Anirudha Joshi (IIT Bombay) will deliver the keynote addresses. Meanwhile, Prof Arun Garg (University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA) will be conferred with the ?Life-time Achievement Award? for his contribution in the area of ergonomics.
