15-DEC-2017: Centre of Cardiology to start new OPD
Aligarh, December 15: Centre of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Research, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will start a new OPD for heart-failure and arrhythmias patients from December 18, 2017.
The new OPD will function every Monday from 9:00 am at OPD 14, New OPD Block near the Trauma Centre of JNMC.
This new service has been initiated by Dr Malik Mohd Azharuddin (Associate Professor, JNMC) under the guidance of Professor Asif Hasan (Director, Centre of Cardiology) with the objective of optimizing the management of patients with heart failure and irregularities of pulse rate problems.
Prof Asif Hasan has urged the general practitioners to refer patients with difficulty in breathing while walking, edema over limbs, chest pain on exertion, palpitation, and syncope to the new OPD. He also pointed out that efforts are underway to start more such specialty cardiology OPDs.
