AMU hails India?s vote in the UN General Assembly on Jerusalem
Aligarh, December 25: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor hailed India?s principled stand on Palestine followed over the last seven decades.
Prof Mansoor expressed happiness that India voted in favour of a resolution at the United Nations General Assembly which opposed Unites States President Donald Trump?s call to recognise Jerusalem as Israel?s capital.
?The University welcomes India joining over 100 countries at the UN to vote against the recognition of Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel,? said AMU Vice Chancellor.
He added that the foreign policy decisions should be based on national interest. ?This vote is in India?s national interest, right in international law, and historically consistent? said Prof Mansoor.
