29-DEC-2017: AMU teachers selected for media literacy worlshop
ALIGARH December 29: Four teachers of Aligarh Muslim University have been selected for ?Media Literacy Workshop?, organized by the American Councils of International Education for 40 Access teachers in India from January 22-28, 2018. The workshop is to be held at the International School Aamby in the Lonavala region of Maharashtra State.
The selected teachers, who hail from different University schools and department, include Mr Syed Faiz Zaidi and Mr Malik Mohammad Arshad from Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys), Mr Syed Viqar Akbar from AMU City School and Ms Zainab Sarwat from Department of English.
The participants were competitively selected on the basis of their aptitude for integrating digital tools in English language teaching.
The main objective of the training programme is to provide the participants with basic knowledge and skills to incorporate digital literacy into their instructional practices. By the end of this experiential workshop, educators will have the expertise to implement creative educational technology projects in classrooms.
Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director UGC Human Resource Development Centre, has congratulated the teachers on their selection for the workshop, emphasizing that Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of its teachers has been a hallmark of Aligarh Muslim University and should always remain an integral part of English language teachers. He said that it will help these teachers integrate pedagogical knowledge and skills with technology to enhance their language teaching and learning through reading, discussion and creation of new learning activities.
