British scholar visits AMU, deliver lectures
ALIGARH January 10: Dr Geoffrey P. Nash, Department of English, School of Culture, University of Sunderland, UK, who is visiting the Aligarh Muslim University under academic exchange programme undertaken as part of the Sir Syed Bicentenary celebrations, engaged around 110 AMU faculty members and research scholars in 02 batches for workshops and tutorial on academic writing.
Dr Nash?s visit has been facilitated by the AMU Alumni Association, London and the credit for this meaningful innovative academic programme goes to Dr Khursheed Hasan on whose initiation, Dr Nash has taken up this programme. AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor has extended assistance to the programme, urging University teachers and research scholars to maximum benefit out of this event.
Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director, UGC Human Resource Development Centre said that these programmes will go a long way in capacity building and professional development of AMU teachers and research scholars. He said that their writing samples were sent in advance to Dr Nash for a thorough analysis and discussion during the workshop.
Prof Kidwai said that Dr Nash will stay until January 24, 2018 and will deliver lectures in different departments of study.
