04-MAR-2018: National seminar held on issues in Madrasa syllabi
ALIGARH March 4: K A Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University organized a two-day national seminar on ?Teaching of the Quran in Madrasas: Issues in Syllabus and Methodology".
Professor Ali Mohammad Naqvi, Director, Sir Syed Academy and Centre for Interfaith Understanding and Mufti Umar Abedeen Qasmi Madani, Hyderabad chaired the sessions.
Professor Tawqueer Alam Falahi, Dean Faculty of Theology and Chairman, Department of Sunni Theology, who presided over the function and delivered the keynote address on this occasion, discussed the theme of the seminar while emphasizing the importance of and need for revising the syllabi of Quranic studies in Madrasas.
Dr. Tauseef Ahmad Parray (J&K) delivered a special lecture on "Shura-Democracy Nexus in the Selected Urdu Tafaseer of the SubČ Continent". Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director, Centre for Quranic Studies and UGC HRDC chaired the session.
Mr. Arshad Iqbal, conducted the programme while Dr Nazeer Abdul Majeed and Mr Hamid Miyan conducted the different session of the seminar.
About 40 participants from different parts of the country attended the seminar.
