AMU concludes ?Art Niche 2018?
Aligarh, March 19: Around 9000 people visited a four-day ?Art Niche 2018?, a multi-arts festival orgnanised by the fine Arts Club which displayed a beautiful potpourri of cultures through visual arts, music, theatre and ideas.
AMU Fine Arts Club collaborated with the Divine Corporation and Aditya Dev Institute of Fine Arts to organise the festival for showcasing creativity and imagination in all its rich plurality.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor on his visit to the festival appreciated the efforts and hard work put in by the organisers. ?AMU is a university of art, culture and literature and such events will always have my support,? said Prof Mansoor.
One of the highlights of the event was the International Art Exhibition at Moinuddin Ahmed Art Gallery. Wajid Khan (renowned artist) who is designing the sculpture for the FIFA World Cup 2022 with Gori Yusuf Husen (International calligraphy artist), Suneet Chopra (Journalist and Politician), Anubha Singh (Head, Aditya Dev Institute of Fine Art), Dr Neelam Mohan, Aditya Dev Sharma, Gulrez Ali, Jameel Ahmed and Abdul Hasan were present on the occasion for interactive workshops and display of their works.
During the workshop, participants tried their hands on brush-lettering under the guidance of eminent artists who also discussed basics of art and other necessary skills.
Swaad Niche, a commercial bazaar with a gaming zone attracted many visitors. Youngsters were seen enjoying the atmospheric neon-lit spaces, the sheer variety and the immediate thrills in the gaming zone.
Stalls run by students of AMU, Jamia Millia Islamia, Lovely Professional University and MIT attracted visitors interested in varieties of cuisines, garments and handicrafts.
Another spectre of the festival was the ?Photology Exhibition? comprising of photo-booths where people created dreamy pictures of themselves. The exhibition had Prof Farhat Basir Khan from Jamia Millia Islamia as the Guest-of-Honour.
Competitions of Rangoli art, calligraphy, face painting, memes, tiny tales and music and poetry recitation also took place. Haider Saifullah, Jafar Hasnain, Shakir Ali entertained with musical and monologue performances.
Professor F S Sherani (Coordinator, CEC), Muzammil Bhavani and Dr Abdur Rahman helped in organising the event. The festival ended with a felicitation ceremony.
