Prof Syed Ziaur Rahman attends national seminar as Guest-Speaker in Raipur
Aligarh, March 20: Prof Syed Ziaur Rahman (Department of Pharmacology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College?JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University?AMU) attended a national seminar on ?Relevance of Medical Anthropology and Tribal Health Care Systems in the Globalizing World? at the School of Studies in Anthropology, Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU), Raipur, Chattisgarh as the Guest-Speaker.
Speaking on ?Pharmaecovigilance in Ecology and Health?, Prof Rahman discussed harmful effects of pharmaceuticals entering the environment through various routes.
He pointed out, human health and ecology are more intimately related than ever and medical anthropologists have to play a big role.
Prof Rahman also chaired a technical session on ?Mainstreaming Tribal Medicinal Heritage?. He submitted the report to the Director, Anthropological Survey of India (APSI) through Society for Indian Medical Anthropology (SIMA).
Prof Vinay Kumar Srivastava (Director, APSI), Prof S K Pandey (Vice Chancellor, PRSU) and Prof P C Joshi (President, SIMA) were present on the occasion.
