AMU students shine at national debate competition
ALIGARH March 21: The Aligarh Muslim University debating team won the Best Speaker prize in the 7th Dr Zakir Husain National Trilingual Debate organized by the Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
Wajahat Jilani, a BALLB 4th year student of AMU, who participated in the English debate, won the Best Speaker award while a team of Mateen Ashraf, a BA final year student and cabinet member, AMUSU and Sajid Bukhari, BALLB 1st year student, won the first prize in Urdu debate.
Jilani, who spoke against the motion, ?This House believes that the millennial Generation is post-racial?, was judged the ?Best Speaker? among 40 participants from different universities and colleges.
Prof FS Sherani, Coordinator, Cultural Education Centre, Dr Mohibul Haque, President, Literary and Debating Club and Mr Aasif Akhlaque, Secretary of the Club have congratulated the winners.
