26-MAR-2018: Extension Lecture by Dr. Sumit Ray
Aligarh, March 26: Dr Sumit Ray, Vice Chairman, Department of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, delivered an extension lecture on the topic entitled ?50 years of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) ? where do we stand? recently in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Dr Ray highlighted the origin of the syndrome, the various aetiopathogenesis of the syndrome, the recent advances in the management and the controversies. He clarified the doubts and myths existing amongst the residents and consultants. In his conclusion remark he mentioned ventilator strategies are the most important aspect in preventing and managing ARDS patients.
The lecture was attended by approximately 75 consultants and resident doctors from different speciality.
In the end Prof S Moied Ahmed, Chairman, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, JNMC, paid vote of thanks and Prof Massod Siddiqui presented memento to Dr Ray on behalf of the department.
