02-APR-2018: Wipro hires AMU female students
Aligarh, April 2: Female students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) are all set to fill upper echelons of multinational companies as India?s top IT firm, Wipro Technologies has hired ten girls pursuing Diploma in engineering courses in the computer, electronics and IT fields from the Women?s Polytechnic of AMU.
Himanshi Varshney, Himanshi Agrawal, Yashika Varshney, Falak Naz, Nausheen Fatma, Priyanka Gupta, Nimisha Gupta, Iba Mahfooz, Afreen Rais and Shraddha Mangal, who were selected during an on-going campus placement drive were felicitated by the university authorities at a special function.
?It was a rigorous recruitment process consisting of an online written examination followed by several rounds of interviews and 29 students qualified the written examination out of 34 applicants,? said Mr Vikram Goyal (Chief recruiter, Wipro Technologies) pointing out that this is highest number of qualifying students in recruitment tests conducted by WIPRO in various Indian universities.
Dr Salma Shaheen (Principal, University Women?s Polytechnic) said she is humbled by the response of WIPRO. ?Our students are equipped with necessary skills and their transformational time at University Women?s Polytechnic has helped them to boost capabilities and move ahead in their chosen careers,? she added.
Dr Jahangir Alam, (Training and Placement Officer, University Women?s Polytechnic) said Women?s Polytechnic is paying special attention to placements for students with regular workshops and seminars to hone their skills.
Meanwhile, Mr Saad Hameed (Training and Placement Officer, General) congratulated the students and urged them to excel in their careers.
Mr Tariq Ahmed (Training and Placement Coordinator, Women?s Polytechnic) proposed the vote of thanks.
