03-APR-2018: AMU screening short films, documentaries during 'Hauteur Verte'
Aligarh, April 3: Combining art and activism, the University Eco Club, Cultural Education Centre, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is screening 40 powerful short films and documentaries from Iran, France and Oman on environment-conservation during the 'Hauteur Verte', an International film festival at the Kennedy Hall Auditorium. These films are based on issues such as pollution, use of biogas and oxygen depletion.
While inaugurating the festival, Mr Saleem Ghazi (Bollywood Assistant Director) discussed the importance of energy conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. After speaking on the importance of making films on environmental issues, he also talked about careers in film-making and Bollywood in a special interactive session with the students.
The festival which will conclude on April 4 will have eminent Bollywood actor, Mr Raza Murad as the Chief-Guest on the final day. An interactive session of students with Mr Murad is also scheduled to take place which will be followed by awards to the best films screened at the festival.
Prof F S Sherani (CEC coordinator) helped organising the event with major contributions from Dr Arshad Bari (President, Eco Club) and Mr Furqan Ahmad (Secretary, Eco Club).
