03-APR-2018: Dept of Library and Information Science concludes two-day national seminar
Aligarh, April 3: The Department of Library and Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in collaboration with the UGC DRS-I (Special Assistance Program) concluded a two-day national seminar on ?Knowledge Management in Libraries: Issues and Challenges?, in which the experts discussed the pioneering techniques of managing knowledge and noble methods of tapping the knowledge.
Delivering the presidential address at the valedictory function, Prof Shamim Ahmad Ansari (Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences) pointed out that since knowledge is the edifice of society, no development is possible in any area without management and knowledge generation. He also distributed certificates to seminar participants.
Talking about the issues and challenges in Knowledge Management (KM), Prof Naushad Ali PM (Seminar Director) said that solutions and opportunities follow challenges and there are numerous ways of tapping and generating new knowledge.
Dr Sudharma Haridasan (Seminar Convener and Chairperson, Department of Library and Information Science) said that KM is an asset stored for next generation and creating management systems will lengthen the existence of knowledge and its judicious usage.
Dr Nishat Fatima, (Seminar Rapporteur General) presented the comprehensive seminar report of all technical sessions.
Dr M Masoom Raza (Organising Secretary) proposed the vote of thanks, while Dr Muzamil Mushtaq conducted the valedictory function.
