12-APR-2018: Two AMU students and Innovation Club among top at FINE 2018
Aligarh, April 12: Aligarh Muslim University?s M Tech student, Shah Faizan for ?Suppression of Hand Tremors of Parkinson Patients? and BE student Atul Chaudhary for ?Intelligent Ocean Surveillance System? and AMU Innovation Club received appreciation from Honourable President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind in a gathering at the Rashtrapati Bhavan which brought together world experts on innovation with inventors from across the country.
From among 500 entries of top universities and engineering colleges, Faizan and Chaudhary were selected to exhibit their prototypes as the top 16 innovators and AMU Innovation Club was judged in the 10 best Innovation Clubs at the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE 2018) organised by the Rashtrapati Bhavan in association with the Department of Science and Technology and the National Innovation Foundation (NIF).
Appreciating the top innovators and clubs, Honourable President of India, Shri Kovind thanked them for showing glimpses of their extraordinary minds. He added that the stories of all innovators and their clubs are inspiring and it is now time to convert their innovations into entrepreneurial start-ups.
The two AMU students and AMU Innovation Club were also given the opportunity to present their innovations in a round table meeting headed by the President?s Secretariat, Director of Ministry of Human Resource Development and Vice-Chairperson of National Innovation Foundation.
M Tech student, Faizan is working under the guidance of Prof Muzammil (Department of Mechanical Engineering) on his innovation, while BE Student, Chaudhary is working under Dr Saleem Anwar (Department of Mechanical Engineering). Prof Mirza Faisal S Baig (Department of Mechanical Engineering) was the coordinator in short-listing the proposal from AMU. Prof S Imtiaz Hasnain is the Chairman, Innovation Council and Incubation Center at AMU, while Prof Mohammad Sajjad Athar is the Convener of the Center.
Ten clubs which reached the final round of the festival represented 16 innovators from AMU, IIT Kharagpur, NIT Uttrakhand, NIT Trichy and NIT Calicut among other top institutions.
