19-APR-2018: Dept of Commerce organises seminar on ?Financial Inclusion through Financial Education?
Aligarh, April 19: The Department of Commerce and the Training and Placement Office (General), Aligarh Muslim University?AMU in association with National Stock Exchange of Indian (NSE), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Unit Trust of India (UTI) organized a regional seminar on ?Financial Inclusion through Financial Education? at the Strachey Hall where affordable, timely and adequate access to a wide range of regulated financial products and services and broadening their use was discussed.
Presiding over the seminar, AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Tabassum Shahab highlighted the need of being a conscious and trained investor to avoid set backs from investments.
The Chief Guest, Mr Surya Kant Sharma (Deputy General Manager, SEBI) delineated role of SEBI for investor?s education, while Ms Renu Bhandari (Manager, NSE) gave a presentation on ?Principles of Sound Investing?. Mr Harinder Pal Singh (Vice President, UTI) delivered a talk on ?Basics of Mutual Funds?.
Welcoming the guests, Prof Nawab Ali Khan apprised the audience about the theme of the seminar.
Mr Saad Hameed (Training and Placement Officer?General) Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Nayyar Rahman conducted the programme.
