AMU scholar gets PhD for significant study on major national dailies
ALIGARH April 24: Aligarh Muslim University?s Department of Mass Communication has produced an important study on ?The changing trend of presentation of news: A comparative study of four national English dailies?, including The Times of India, The Hindustan Times, The Indian Express and The Hindu.
The comparative study, which has earned a PhD degree to Mr Mohammad Naseeb, reveals that the Indian print media has acquired the contours of market driven journalism as a result of globalization and privatization in the post-1990s world.
Mr Naseeb asserted that despite changes in priorities, reporting for the first page has been preoccupied with political and crime reporting while cramming the first page with large and small colour photographs, long and large fonts for smaller items, placement of too many advertisements.
