26-APR-2018: Inauguration of Rural Heath Survey on World Malaria Day
Aligarh, April 26: On World Malaria Day (25, April), Word Health Organisation (WHO) call for urgent action to expedite the global fight against malaria, Department of Tahaffuzi wa SamajiTib, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University, joined hands with them.
To mark the occasion Prof. Khalid Zaman Khan, Dean Faculty of Unani Medicine flagged off ambulance for health survey in Barola Jafarabad area. During interaction Prof. Khalid said, ?Together, we must ensure that no one is left behind in accessing life-saving services to prevent, diagnose and treat malaria.?
On the occasion Prof. SM Safdar Ashraf, Chairman Dept. of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib, Prof. Tafseer Ali, DMS Ajmal khan Tibbiya College and Hospital played an active role to promote survey and camp.
Barola Jafarabad area of Aligarh is an addition to the series of underserved areas for organising the Health Survey and Health Camp adopted by the Department of Tahaffuzi wa SamajiTib, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Faculty of Unani Medicine.
The health survey and the health camps are designed to check the general health, nutritional status and temperament assessment of the people living in the rural area of Barola Jafarabad.
Prof. SM Safdar informed that regular visits by undergraduate students of BUMS will be made mandatory to various health centres. He said, we are providing transportation for National Health Programmes and Visualisation of Post-mortem examination for smooth functioning. These facilities for UG students are also being provided for the first time as required by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi, he added.
