26-APR-2018: Dept of Amraz-e-Niswan-wa-Atfal to organise CME workshop
Aligarh, April 26: The Department of Amraz-e-Niswan-wa-Atfal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will organise a Continuing Medical Education (CME) workshop on ?Essential Newborn Care during Early Neonatal Period? on May 3 in which deliberations will be made to create an understanding of the patterns and determinants related to essential newborn care practices such as safe cord care, optimal thermal care and neonatal feeding practices among other topics.
Scheduled to take place at the Non-Resident Students? Centre (NRSC), the CME will have AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor and Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Tabassum Shahab as Chief Patron and Patron respectively. Prof Khalid Zaman Khan (Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine) is the CME Co-Patron.
Prof MMA Faridi (Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Era University, Lucknow), Prof S Manazir (In-Charge, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College?JNMC), Dr Surender Bisht (Consultant, SDN Hospital, New Delhi), Dr Ravi Sachan (GTB Hospital, New Delhi) and Dr Fahmeeda Kausar are speakers and resource persons of the workshop.
?There is a need to provide awareness of health care for reducing infant mortality rate,? said Prof S Aamena Naaz (Organising Chairperson of the CME) adding that it is necessary to take precautions to avoid preterm birth complications, infections, birth asphyxia, congenital malformations and other problems which are major reasons of infant mortality.
