UGC HRD Centre concludes training programme of Assistant Registrars, Assistant Controllers and Assistant Finance Officers
Aligarh, April 27: Assistant Registrars, Assistant Controllers and Assistant Finance Officers of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) were given a special one-week training organised by the UGC HRD Centre of University in which resource persons deliberated on administration, planning and effective functioning of education institutions.
While distributing certificates to the participants during the valedictory function, IAS Officer and former Vice Chancellor of MANUU, Hyderabad, Mr M Khwaja Shahid discussed the importance of performance appraisal of government employees. He praised AMU administration for taking necessary steps for training and skill upgradation of employees.
Prof A R Kidwai (Director, UGC HRD Centre) pointed out that smooth and effective functioning of offices facilitates quality teaching and research in universities.
Prof Asfar Ali Khan (OSD to the Vice Chancellor Office) discussed ways of making the administration more effective. He also answered queries of the participants.
Prof Farhatullah Khan (Emeritus Prof, Department of English) delivered a talk on the importance of communication skills, while Professor Badar Alam Iqbal (Department of Commerce) spoke on finances and audits in educational institutions.
Former AMU Registrar, Prof Nazim Ali, Dr Sehba Masood (Department of Computer Science), Mr Nihaluddin Siddiqui, Dr Arshad Husain and Dr Juhi Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
Dr Faiza Abbasi (Assistant Director, UGC HRD Centre) coordinated the programme.
