28-APR-2018: Workshop and case-based-discussion held at Dept of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care
Aligarh, April 28: Prof Rashid M Khan (Senior consultant and teaching in-charge , Khaula General Hospital and Trauma Centre, Muscat, Oman and former teacher at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College?JNMC) deliberated the significance of checking the normal functioning of Anaesthesia Workstation during a workshop on ?Anaesthesia Machine (Workstation) ? Check List of the Safety System? and a case-based-discussion on ?Unanticipated Difficult Airway landing to Cannot Oxygenate and Cannot Intubate (COCI)? organised by the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care in the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) of Aligarh Muslim University.
During the two-day programme, Prof Khan emphasised on ways to prevent anaesthesia complications and discussed the management of patients with Unanticipated Difficult Airway landing to CCOCI.
?Since there are situations when anaesthetists fail to maintain airway of patients, it is imperative to focus on timely management,? he said explaining the necessary steps involved the management of air way patients.
Prof S Moied Ahmed (Chairperson, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care) spoke on the contributions of Prof Khan. He said that Prof Khan during his job in JNMC was instrumental in improving the academic and clinical standards of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care.
Prof Shahjahan Bano was also present on the occasion. Over 50 consultants and residents doctors attended the programme.
