08-MAY-2018: Dept of Amraz-e-Niswan-wa-Atfal organises CME workshop
Aligarh, May 8: The Department of Amraz-e-Niswan-wa-Atfal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised a Continuing Medical Education (CME) workshop on ?Essential Newborn Care during Early Neonatal Period? in which deliberations were made on understanding the patterns and determinants related to essential newborn care practices such as safe cord care, optimal thermal care and neonatal feeding practices among other topics.
Prof MMA Faridi (Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Era University, Lucknow), Prof S Manazir (In-Charge, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College?JNMC), Dr Surender Bisht (Consultant, SDN Hospital, New Delhi), Dr Ravi Sachan (GTB Hospital, New Delhi) and Dr Fahmeeda Kausar were speakers and resource persons of the workshop.
They deliberated on new born physiology and immediate care, supply and testing of equipments, bag and mask ventilation, chest compression, initiation of breast feeding, physiological variations, warm chain and maintenance of asepsis. The resource persons also provided the participants with hands-on-training on the care of newborns inside and outside the labour room.
Prof S Aameena Naaz (Chairperson, Organising Committee) welcomed the guests and briefed them about the workshop.
Discussing the benefits of the programme, Organising secretaries of the CME, Dr Diwan Asrar Khan and Dr M Anas said that this CME-workshop is an opportunity to update knowledge and to know recent advances in teaching and training in neonatology care.
Dr Fahmeeda Zeenat and Dr Abiha A Khan conducted programme, while Dr Subuhi Mustafa proposed the vote of thanks.
