19-MAY-2018: Environmental Engineering Section, Dept of Civil Engineering organises two-day workshop
Aligarh, May 19: The Environmental Engineering Section of the Department of Civil Engineering, Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised 'Design of Experiments ? Engineering Applications,' a two-day workshop in which research scholars and M Tech students attended lectures on simple linear regression models, multiple linear regression, quadratic models, design of experiments including one-way CRD and two-way RB classified data, full factorial designs, central composite designs, box behnken design and demonstration of design expert softwares. TEQIP III program of the Engineering College sponsored the workshop.
Emphasising the importance of the workshop, Prof Badrul Hasan Khan (Chief Guest and Dean, Faculty of Engineering) and Mohammad Jawaid Siddiqui (Guest of Honour, Coordinator TEQIP III) discussed various design types and statistical and non-statistical approaches for location optimization and variability reduction.
Prof Izharul Haq Farooqi (Coordinator of the workshop) explained the importance of design of experiments in planning of experiments and interpretation of results.
While Dr Bushra Husain delivered lectures as resource person, Mr Dar Tafazul Islam conducted tutorial sessions using Design Expert Software.
Prof Mohammad Muzzammil, Prof Anwar Khursheed and Prof Jawed Alam presented mementoes to guests and organisers of the workshop.
Prof Anwar Khursheed proposed the vote of thanks.
Over 50 participants from AMU and other engineering colleges attended the workshop.
