First Health Camp at Barola Jafrabad held
Aligarh, August 09: The Department of Tahaffuzi Wa Samaji Tib (Preventive and Social Medicine) Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized first Health Camp at Barola, Jafrabad a village in Aligarh, in association with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre Aligarh.
Dr. A A Khan and Dr. M Aslam were the consultant of the health camp which started at10am and continued till 2pm. More than hundred patients attended health check up, vaccination, E.C.G. and other facilities were offered free of cost and was jointly sponsored by Dawakhana Tibbya College and Chief Medical Officer, Aligarh.
The department has adopted this village for community survey and health check up. The camp was inaugurated jointly by the Dr. Safdar-e-Azam, Assistant Director, IGNOU and Prof. Abdul Mannan, Acting Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine.
The Chief Guest of function Dr. Safdar-e-Azam, Assistant Director, IGNOU Regional Centre correlated the importance of education with hygienic practices.
Chairman of the department Prof. (Dr) S M Safdar Ashraf presented a short report of the departmental activities. He informed the audience about the details of health camp and promised further camp with specialized clinic
Pardhan of the village Yogendra Lodhi (Advocate) paid his gratitude to the department on behalf of residents of the village.
In his presidential address Prof. Abdul Mannan, Acting Dean; Faculty of Unani Medicine said that even the teacher of Medicine must realise that ?Prevention is better than cure?. He praised the department for the activities towards social responsibility.
The Incharge of the health Camp Dr. Mohammad Aslam presented vote of thanks, while Dr. Abdul Aziz Khan anchored the programme.
