21-AUG-2018: AMU represented in Learning Outcome based Curriculum Framework initiative
Aligarh, August 21: Prof. Qudsia Tahseen, Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been invited by the commission as one of the experts of the committee constituted for designing the curricula. University Grants Commission (UGC) has set up guidelines and constituted general and subject specific committees to design learning outcome-based model curricula (LOCF) for undergraduate and post graduate education in India.
Prof. Tahseen has recently returned from a three-month research collaboration visit of Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology, Tubingen, Germany.
The aim of UGC?s initiative is to motivate the students for lifelong learning and to equip them with critical thinking, problem solving and analytical reasoning besides imparting the subject-specific knowledge.
Introduction of internship and appropriate fieldwork /case studies in the curricula will further help in enhancing their skills thus increasing employability.
