26-SEP-2018: Three Weeks Course SRC Human Rights concluded at UGC HRD Centre, AMU
Aligarh, September 26: The Subject Refresher Course on Human Rights concluded at the UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Sixty one University /College teachers from Assam, J&K, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh got enrolled for the course.
Addressing the Valedictory programme as the Chief Guest Emeritus Prof Farhatullah Khan , said that the responsibility of the teachers in Higher Education Sector is two-fold, to sensitize the students about human rights and to work towards defending human rights.
He emphasised that the atmosphere at UGC HRD Centre is conducive to learning and making fruitful relationships. Prof Khan also felicitated the outstanding performers and distributed the certificates.
Prof AR Kidwai, Director UGC Human Resource Development Centre, AMU elaborated that AMU has once again figured in the top five Universities of the country according to reputed national ranking agencies. He urged the participants to learn from good practices showcased during the course at the AMU.
Course coordinator Prof AR Vijapur, Department of Political Science, AMU facilitated the certificate distribution ceremony. He said 21 days course was enriched by educational visits and several stages of evaluation.
Dr Faiza Abbasi, Assistant Professor, UGC HRD Centre, AMU conducted the programme. She said the higher education teachers` interaction has paved the way towards their professional development.
The first prize for reading the maximum number of books from the HRDC library was awarded to Dr Mevalal Yadav, Bareilly (UP).
