28-SEP-2018: Swachhta Pakhwada held at AMU Kishanganj Centre
ALIGARH September 28: As part of the national cleanliness movement and awakening about Swachhta Pakhwada, the Aligarh Muslim University's Kishanganj Centre organized a number of events to sensitize the students and common people in Kishanganj locality for personal and environmental sanitation and hygiene.
Taking up the Government of India's Swachhta mantra, 'Na gandagi karenge, Na karne denge', the AMU Kishanganj Centre formed a committee to organize various events including film show, pledge taking ceremony and speech competition.
Swachhta committee members Mr Manauwer Raza and Mr Ekhlas Ghani organized the film show on different topics including ban on use of plastics.
Ms Adiba Parveen and Ms Shahda Mohib conducted the speech competition on "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: A Remarkable Transformation".
Centre Director, Prof Raashid Nehal, Dr Shahzad Alam (Course Coordinator MBA) and Mr Ghufran Ahmad (Course Coordinator B Ed) judged the event. Ahmad Omair (MBA) won first prize while Mirza Mashkoor (MBA), Ramla Perveen (B Ed) and Munthakhab Alam (MBA) jointly won the second prize and Shreekant (MBA) got the third prize.
Programme Incharge Dr Azim-Ur-Rahman conducted a pledge by all students to work for the popularization of Swachhta Abhiyan in rural areas and urge the people in urban localities to maintain higher degree of cleanliness and personal hygiene.
