28-SEP-2018: Dr Faizi delivered talk at National Health Assembly
Aligarh, September 28: Dr Nafis Faizi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine, JN Medical College delivered talk on child health and nutrition at the 3rd National Health Assembly at Raipur.
The Assembly was organized with the objective to evaluate and analyse the current policies that impact health at local, regional and national levels. More than 2000 health activists from different states of India with eminent public health experts attended it.
While appraising the status of child health in the country, Dr Faizi focussed the issues concerning the decline in Infant Mortality Rate reduction in India. His analysis was on how poverty, inequality, poor health spending and other factors has affected child health.
Dr. Nafis also prepared two booklets for the assembly- on safeguarding the health of children and access to medicines
The assembly was organized by People?s Health Movement (PHM), Jan Swasthya Abhiyan, Public Health Resource Network and other allied organizations. The panel suggested policy course corrections and programmes that could improve the status quo.
Besides Dr Nafis Faizi, Mr Hazique Jameel, an MBBS student of the JN Medical College also participated in the assembly.
