01-OCT-2018: AMU continues to observe Swachhta Pakhwada
Aligarh, October 1: As the on-going Swachhta Pakhwada observations in the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) continue, the teachers, residents and other staff of the Department of Microbiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) were sensitised on mass cleanliness.
Prof M Shahid, Chairperson, Department of Microbiology administered the cleanliness oath, while Dr Fatima Khan delivered a lecture on biomedical waste management.
The Biomedical Waste Management Committee, JNMC observed the Swachhta Pakhwada with Prof S C Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Medicine administering the oath. Prof Mazhar Abbas, Chairperson, Biomedical Waste Management Committee organised various programmes on the occasion with Prof Haris M Khan, Medical Superintendent and Prof MF Huda, Additional Medical Superintendent. Dr Farah Ghaus and Dr Syed Shariq Naeem distributed the Swachhta batches to students and staff.
Dr Asim Zafar (Co-ordinator, IGNOU Study Centre, AMU) pledged with the staff to maintain cleanliness. He along with Dr Ashok Sharma (Regional Director), Dr M R Faisal, Dr Anwar Shahzad, Dr Mahmood Ali, Dr Shahid Nadeem, Dr Husain, Dr Danish and Arshad Iqbal conducted programmes such as a cleanliness drive, tree plantations and an awareness campaign to observe the Swachhta Pakhwada.
