08-OCT-2018: Exhibition on Sir Syed and Akbar to begin on October 15
ALIGARH October 8: The Centre of Advanced Study, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with the Musa Dakri Museum, the central museum of the University, is organising an exhibition of miniatures depicting the life of Akbar, marking the great Mughal ruler's 476th birth anniversary on October 15, 2018. The copies of Akbari documents, coins and medallions, along with some archaeological artefacts from Fathpur Sikri will also be exhibited on the occasion. Akbar, one of the greatest sons of India, was born on 15 October 1542 in the mansion of a Rajput prince at Amarkot.
Professor Syed Ali Nadeem Rezavi, Chairman and Coordinator, CAS Department of History, informed that the exhibition, which will be inaugurated on October 15, will also carry books, sculptures and archaeological artefacts related to the life and times of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the great social reformer and founder of the Aligarh Muslim University.
