10-OCT-2018: Counseling session held at Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School
ALIGARH October 10: The Students Counseling Centre, Aligarh Muslim University organized a counseling and awareness session for the students of Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School. Prof Akbar Husain, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Deputy Counselor, interacted with the students to empower them with a ethical and emotional support in distress.
Addressing on the occasion, Prof Husain mentioned ways to cope with stress and anxiety related issues and urged the students to face these challenges by empowering themselves with Yoga, meditation and prayer. He responded to students' queries and advised them to identify the causes of anxiety and emotional pressure and resolve them with personal discipline measures and meditation.
Earlier, Mr Habib Ahmad, officiating Vice Principal and Dr Naila Rashid, PGT, welcomed the guest speaker and his team.
Mr Syed Mohd Mustafa, Principal of the school thanked Prof Akbar Husain for his valuable suggestions to overcome personal and study related problems.
Meanwhile, an essay writing and speech competition was also organized at the Saiyyid Hamid Senior School under the Sir Syed Day celebrations. Saud Ahmad, a class XII student got the first prize in essay competition while Maaz Abdullah (XII) and Mohd Yusuf (XI) got the second and third prize, respectively. Mohd Zaman Rizvi was given consolation prize.
In the Speech Competition, Mohd Zohair Noor (XI), Abdullah Iftekhar (XI) and Hamid Masood (XI) were given first, second and third prize, respectively, while Anas Ali got the consolation prize.
Mr Mazhar Husain and Dr Mohd Abu Saleh judged the literary events.
