13-OCT-2018: Special issue of Tahzibul Akhlaq released
ALIGARH October 13: Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor today released the special issue of the Urdu monthly, Tahzibul Akhlaq, in his office in the presence of the editor, Professor Saghir Afraheem, Prof Tariq Chhatari, Chairman, Department of Urdu, Prof Shafey Kidwai, Chairman, Department of Mass Communication and Member Incharge, Public Relations, Dr Seema Saghir, Mr Abdul Hamid, Registrar and Mr. Ahmad Mujtaba Quraishi, Assistant Editor.
The special issue of the journal that marks the 201st birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, one of the great social reformers of the nineteenth century and founder of the Aligarh Muslim University, carries 43 articles on various aspects of Sir Syed's life and contributions.
Releasing the issue, Prof Tariq Mansoor said that Sir Syed's educational movement and his contributions for social reformation need to be revisited and emulated with a new vigour. He said that the Aligarh Muslim University has recently concluded Sir Syed's bicentenary celebrations with the publication of several books and special issues of journals and holding of seminars, symposia and conferences on him.
