26-OCT-2018: AMU research scholar gets best paper award
ALIGARH October 26: Ms Naila Firdous, a research scholar in the Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University received "Best Paper Award" in international conference of Indian School of Psychology Association, held at Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam, recently.
Firdous' paper, titled "Parenting Style on Self Efficacy of Adolescents", points out that flexible parenting style during childhood puts positive impact on child's overall development whereas authoritarian and permissive style influences child's behaviour negatively, and the development of child is badly affected.
Firdous suggested that parents should carefully listen to their children, they should not be critical, physical punishment should be avoided and a conducive atmosphere should be created allowing children to share their views with parents.
Ms Naila Firdous is pursuing research under the supervision of Professor Shah Alam.
