27-OCT-2018: National seminar on Gandhi begins on October 30, 2018
ALIGARH October 26: Mahatma Gandhi's advocacy for restoring complete social justice through non-violent means, has found new relevance in the changing socio-political discourse.
To provide a platform and an opportunity to discuss the Gandhian principles of Satyagrah and using it as a means for ensuring social justice, the Department of Philosophy, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with the Indialogue Foundation and Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, is organizing a two-day National Seminar on "Gandhian Perspective on Alternative Dispute Resolution" on October 30-31, 2018 . Mr Tushar Gandhi, great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, will present the keynote address at the inaugural session on October 30 at 10 am at the Faculty of Arts lounge, AMU.
Prof Tariq Islam, one of the conveners of the seminar and Chairman, Department of Philosophy, AMU, said that the primary objective of the two-day seminar is to bring together scholars from diverse disciplines and backgrounds for constructive dialogue and deliberations on modernity and conflict resolution, Gandhian experiment with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and alternative conception of justice.
