31-OCT-2018: AMU faculty receives Science Teacher Award
ALIGARH October 31: Dr Sartaj Ali Tiyagi, PGT (Botany), Saiyid Hamid Senior Secondary School, Aligarh Muslim University, recently received Science Teacher Award, 2014-15, from Shri Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, for his significant contribution to education and farming. Instituted by the Council of Science and Technology, Uttar Pradesh, the award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000/-, citation, shawl and a memento.
Dr Tiyagi has worked on developing agricultural farming that seeks to minimize use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers that are hazardous to human health.
Dr Tiyagi recently delivered a lecture on "Significance of Organics and Bio-fertilizers in Organic Farming" at an international seminar at Kottayam, Kerala and received appreciation from scientists for his ideas for organic farming.
He has received several awards including Young Scientist Award and was honoured with the Life Membership of the National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), New Delhi.
