31-OCT-2018: National Resource Centre organises inaugural session of 'Refresher Course through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)'
Aligarh, October 31:The National Resource Centre, Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised the inaugural session of 'Refresher Course through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)' aimed at providing affordable and flexible ways to learn new skills.
On the occasion, Professor A R Kidwai, Director, Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), AMU said that the online and distance learning based MOOCs are a wonderful opportunity provided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development for candidates who could not get education due to varied reasons.
The Chief-Guest, Prof Imtiaz Hussain, Coordinator, SWAYAM, AMU said that MOOCs and SWAYAM courses are bridging the divide for students who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy.
Prof Nasrin presented the report on online courses to be launched by Department of Education, through the SWAYAM portal on November 1.
Prof M Parvez welcomed the guests, while Prof Gunjan Dubey proposed the vote of thanks.
