05-NOV-2018: Oral Screening Camp for Prevention of Cancer held at Azad Nagar locality
Aligarh, November 05: "The purpose of corporate social responsibility is to guide organizations to act in an ethical and transparent way that contributes to the health and welfare of society", said Dr. Pankaj Kharade (Assistant Professor, Department of Prosthodontics, AMU) while addressing the gathering at Moulana Azad Nagar, locality Aligarh where an Oral Screening Camp was jointly organized by Social Work Department and Dr. ZA Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Inaugrating the camp, Dr Naseem Ahmad Khan, Chairman, Department of Social Work said that the camp is for early diagnosis and prevention of oral cancer due to ill fitting prosthesis and appealed all the residents to create awareness about it among the locality members.
The Public Relation Officer Mr. Omar Peerzada motivated the gathering to join hands to make the camp a success and praised the efforts for taking the initiative.
Dr. Mohammad Tahir (Assistant Professor), Department of Social Work, AMU said the aim of this camp is to reach out to poor residents who can not afford expensive check-up and treatment.
Dr. Andleeb and Dr Sameera, (Assistant Professors, Department of Social Work, AMU) took pains in organising the camps to serve the underprivileged people living around the Aligarh region.
Around 212 patients were examined in camp by a team of Doctors from the Dr. ZA Dental College.
Ms.Mumtaz Apa (Aangan Barri Worker), appealed the general public to come forward and get the advantage of health related advanced facilities available in such camps.
