09-NOV-2018: AMU observes 'Vigilance Awareness Week'
Aligarh, November 9: In line with the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) directives, a slew of programmes were rolled out in the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to mark the 'Vigilance Awareness Week' on the theme, 'Eradicate corruption-build a new India'.
In the Z A Dental College, the week commenced with the Integrity Pledge in which Dr R K Tewari (Principal, Dental College) with faculty members, students and staff took oath to effectively reduce corruption in society. Pamphlets were distributed to patients at the registration counter in the Dental College as a part of the awareness campaign. Dr Neha Agarwal coordinated a panel discussion and essay and slogan writing competitions were also held.
The Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib, Faculty of Unani Medicine observed the 'Vigilance Awareness Week' with a panel discussion in which Prof Khalid Zaman Khan (Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine), Prof Firasat Ali, Prof Ashar Qadeer and Dr Mohd Rehan with other faculty members and research scholars spoke on the importance of transparency, discipline and ethics to eradicate corruption. Dr Ammar Ibne Anwar administered the Integrity Pledge.
In the Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School-Boys, Mr S M Mustafa (Principal) organised various programmes to create awareness among the citizens particularly the students for motivating and encouraging them for actively participating in creating a corruption-free society. Mr Mazhar Husain and Ms Sadia Nasir administered the pledge, while students participated in debates and essay writing competition.
During the observations at the AMU ABK High School-Girls, Dr Anwar Shahzad (Assistant Director, Directorate of School Education), Dr Mohd Abbas Niazi (Principal), Dr Saba Hasan (Vice Principal) took the pledge with school teachers, students and staff to eradicate corruption. Meanwhile, the Home Science room of the school was also inaugurated on the occasion.
