09-NOV-2018: STS School concludes Sir Syed Day Inter-house Sports Week
Aligarh, November 9: The STS School, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) concluded its Sir Syed Day Inter-house Sports Week in which volleyball, cricket, football, tug-of-war, 100 meter race, relay-race and other events took place.
Mr M Naseem (Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Aligarh) who attended the concluding function as the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of physical fitness saying that without physical fitness, a person cannot stand up to face the challenges be it in sports or academics.
The Guest of Honour, Dr Anwar Shahzad (Assistant Director, Directorate of School Education) remarked "without proper physical strength, we cannot achieve our desired goals."
Welcoming the guests, M Faisal Nafis (Principal, STS School) said that STS School produces champions in sports and academics. Mr Fareed Ahmad Siddiqui (Vice Principal) also spoke on the occasion.
The Sapphire House won the volleyball, football, cricket, relay-race and tug-of-war events, while Tarun Rawat won the 100 meter race. In the individual prizes, Sanaur Rehman received the medal for the best volleyball player, M Arman was declared the best football player and Vishal Chandra was judged as the best cricketer.
Meanwhile medals for also given to the NCC Volleyball team of STS School and to Sufian Akhtar (Class XI student) for winning finishing third in the Inter Hall Swimming Competition.
Mr Mohd Adnan Khan (Sports-in-Charge) proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs Fauzia Faridi conducted the programme.
