09-NOV-2018: International conference on Islamic Psychology to begin on Nov 10 at AMU
ALIGARH November 9: The Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a three-day International Conference on "Islamic Psychology: Theory, Research and Application" on November 10-12, 2018.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor will preside over the inaugural function on November 10 at 10 am at the Kennedy Auditorium, while Dr Bagus Riyono, President, International Association of Muslim Psychologists, Indonesia and Mr Mohd Reza Saleh, Special Representative, Al-Mustafa International University, New Delhi will grace the occasion as the guests of honour.
Prof Akbar Husain, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Director of the conference said that more than 100 participants are expected to attend the conference, out of which 30 from Sudan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran, Bangladesh and Australia have given their consent to be a part of the conference. He said about 100 research papers and 12 invited lectures are scheduled to be presented during the various sessions of the programme.
AMU Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof M H Beg will preside over the valedictory programme of the conference on November 12 at the Strachey Hall, while Prof A R Kidwai, Director, K A Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies will b the uest of honour.
Prof Naved Iqbal, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi and Prof Roomana N Siddiqui, Chairperson, Department of Psychology, AMU, are the organizing secretaries.
