28-NOV-2018: Electricity Conservation Awareness program held at JNMCH
Aligarh, November 28: In a concerted effort to create awareness on conserving electricity, an Electricity Conservation Awareness programme was conducted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH), Aligarh Muslim University.
"The aim of the program was to motivate the JNMCH staff for a judicious use of electricity," said Dr Mohd Rihan, MIC Electricity Department and Convener, Green University Project.
Talking about electricity conservation as an issue with huge environmental, social and political implications; Dr Rihan emphasised that the electricity conservation is a societal responsibility. He delineated the effects of carbon dioxide in the production of electricity using fossil fuels.
While discussing the conservation drive in the university under the guidance of AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor, he suggested the use of energy efficient appliances like LEDs for lighting and judiciously using high power load appliances like the air-conditioners.
Prof S C Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Medicine urged the JNMCH to participate in the ongoing conservation drive in the University.
Prof Haris M Khan proposed the vote of thanks, while Mr Ansar ul Haq conducted the programme.
